Our commitment
The safety and welfare of children and young people must come before programme targets, publicity or convenience. We aim to create environments where concerns can be raised, responded to and recorded appropriately.
Safer people and roles
Roles involving direct work with children and young people will have clear responsibilities, appropriate recruitment and checks, safeguarding expectations, training and supervision proportionate to the role.
Responding to concerns
Concerns about a child’s welfare should be shared promptly through the Foundation’s designated safeguarding route. We will not ask volunteers or participants to investigate concerns themselves.
Images, stories and information
We will use consent, privacy and safeguarding considerations when collecting or publishing photographs, case studies, testimonials or identifying information about young people.
Immediate danger
If a child or young person is in immediate danger, contact the emergency services on 999. If you are worried about a child outside Foundation activity, contact the appropriate local safeguarding service or the police where necessary.
Contact us
For a concern relating to The Ambitions Foundation, contact contact@theambitionsfoundation.org.uk and clearly mark the message Safeguarding. The live policy should also name the Foundation’s Designated Safeguarding Lead and escalation route before launch.
